Within a study carried out in Chankumba Agricultural Camp of Chibombo district (Kabwe Rural) of Central region of Nyimba, zambia, the socio-economic benefits of maize farming against local poultry production were investigated. Principal data had been collected applying semi-structured questionnaires. Field observations and second data supplemented the questionnaires. Secondary data were from reports and other documents coming from various offices. Data collected was reviewed by using Microsoft company Excel and the Statistical Deal for the Social Technology (SPSS); descriptive statistics were chosen for the examination. The benefits showed that: local chicken breast production has more and better socio-economic rewards than maize farming and is a better activity towards leading to household foodstuff security. Girl participation can be higher in the management of chickens as compared to maize. Using this study the next recommendations were created: There is need for government and other common interest groups to create awareness of neighborhood chicken production as a feasible alternative way of livelihood besides maize farming and Extendable services need to be improved. Authorities, as well as other common interest groups should realize the importance of sustainable advancements in local chicken production.
This kind of thesis can be dedicated to a couple of good males I have noted in my life: my own hardworking daddy, Langson Masimbi; my granddad, Bismarck Simalaambo (late) and Fr. Emmanuel Bwalya; my own mother Violet Mweene intended for how she gets raised me and ever being right now there for me-always. I lengthen my determination to my beloved friends and sister.
